Pipes and Drums

We take great pride in presenting our very own pipes and drums. With our aim of connecting pipers and drummers of the world, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pipes and Drums was developed as a means of bringing individuals from across the globe together to form a ‘house band’.

The Tattoo Pipes and Drums allows us to build a sustainable network of Scottish pipers and drummers, drawing on talent from here in Scotland and around the world. It encourages interest and commitment across a wider community and supports gifted individuals by providing access to a range of mentors, enabling musicians to progress their talent and expand their opportunities including performing as part of a large ensemble within an iconic, world-class brand.

Scotland has a long and proud tradition of pipe band music, and The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is recognised as a pinnacle of excellence when it comes to performing. Whilst many of the acts that appear on the iconic Edinburgh Castle Esplanade each year are serving military personnel, performing with the Tattoo Pipes and Drums offers a unique opportunity for the very best civilian musicians to stand shoulder to shoulder with the very best of the military acts.
