Capturing Moments from The Heroes Who Made Us

Over the past 75 years, audiences, performers, and staff have gathered from across the world under the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle - lifting spirits and connecting people through a shared love of music, dance, military precision, and, at times, remembrance. Here, we look back at special moments captured during The Heroes Who Made Us Show so far.

The Massed Pipes and Drums

A band of heroes, with a sound that never fails to give a crowd goosebumps, stirring feelings of joy, celebration, and, at times, reflection. Their dramatic entrance across Edinburgh Castle’s historic drawbridge is truly unparalleled.

A World on Stage

Performers from across the globe gathered to share their culture, honouring the heroes of their nations. It was a privilege to welcome each band to the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade, with the Orchestra of Naval Forces of Ukraine, the musicians of war, kicking off the international acts to celebrate their culture and to stand strong as representatives of their country, bringing visibility to the current situation there.
