Duration:

This is a temporary position from 2 June 2026 to 29 August 2026 (with the possibility of an extension depending on our business needs and your availability).

You will work a minimum of 25 hours, usually between 11:30- 16:30 Monday to Friday until 5 August. From 6 August, you will work a minimum of 39 hours per week, 11:30-22:00 Monday to Saturday. Hours from 6 August will be allocated on a rota basis.

In addition, there will be one evening of mandatory training which will take place in July and attendance at the Preview Performance on Thursday 6 August at 21:30.

Job Purpose Summary:

To deliver excellent customer service to audiences and ticket buyers in the lead up to and during their Tattoo experience.

Key Duties:

As a first-class ambassador for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, you will be required to:

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication through our Box Office by email, telephone and face to face with members of the public and travel trade from around the world.
  • Assist in the processing of orders for Tattoo tickets, hospitality packages, memberships and merchandise.
  • Carry out administrative ticket sales tasks, including data logging.
  • Help customers with online bookings, accessing their mobile tickets, offering their tickets for resale and other ticketing enquiries.
  • Prepare and despatch Tattoo tickets and passes.
  • Aid customers with queries at the Tattoo venue.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience of, and a genuine desire to work in a customer service environment.
  • Welcoming and friendly.
  • Hardworking and reliable with a flexible approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills including use of Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
  • Can work under pressure both as part of a team and without supervision.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A second language would be advantageous but not essential.
