Meet our 2023 Massed Military Bands
At our August Show, Stories, this year’s 2023 Lead Service, the Royal Air Force (RAF) will play the main character. In addition to providing our Guard of Honour and Stage Band musicians, the RAF will form our Massed Military Bands, supported by The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Scotland. This summer, they’ll bring the world of video games to the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.

The Innis & Gunn Story
When Innis & Gunn joined the Tattoo as Presenting Partners in 2022, a great alliance was formed. Both Edinburgh locals, we hold innovation and creativity at the core of all we do and relish the opportunity to add our own twist on tradition. In our year of Stories, we wanted to share more about them and how they came to create such a unique award-winning beer.

Since their first performance at the Tattoo in 1961, His Majesty The King’s Guard of Norway has a close relationship with our event. We’re delighted to see them return this August.

Electro Pipes return this August!
Electro Pipes made their Tattoo debut in 2022. Fusing traditional Scottish instruments with modern music, they will make their highly anticipated return this August.

A Royal Event
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been privileged to mark many Royal occasions over the years. This August, we will continue the tradition, paying tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the historic Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

Celebrating limitless forms of expression through Stories
This August, set against the spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, we will welcome local and international audiences to its new Show, Stories. Staged between 4-26 August, the Show will be a celebration of sagas, myths, and legends, transporting audiences on a journey of ideas - from the earliest campfire stories through to the world stage.
