75p vote: Meet British Heart Foundation

Charity is the core of our Tattoo. Every year, we donate profits from our Show to UK-based military and arts charities. In celebration of the Tattoo turning 75, we’ve pledged an additional 75p of every 2025 ticket sold to a new charity.  Earlier this year, members of the Tattoo team were asked to put forward charities important to them. Of this list, five were shortlisted. British Heart Foundation is one of our shortlisted charities. Find out more about this incredible charity below.

Who are British Heart Foundation and what do they do?

Scarlett (above) was born with a rare heart condition where the right side of her heart is underdeveloped, preventing her body from pumping enough blood to her lungs. At just four months old she needed urgent, major surgery and has had multiple operations since.

Scarlett currently lives a next-to-normal life, but every day, Scarlett and her family live with the knowledge that there is currently no cure for her condition.

Without a research breakthrough, Scarlett’s future hinges on a heart transplant.

This is why British Heart Foundation exists. They power groundbreaking research, CPR training, and vital support services to help keep hearts beating across the UK.

British Heart Foundation have funded some of the world’s greatest breakthroughs in heart and circulatory diseases. From pacemaker technology and portable defibrillators to showing that statins can save lives, the proof of your support isn’t just found in the treatments available today - it’s in the extra birthdays celebrated and memories made for families like Scarlett’s.

Why should you vote for British Heart Foundation?

To beat the world's biggest killers, British Heart Foundation still has so much to do. Every three minutes, someone loses their life to heart and circulatory diseases in the UK. Sometimes without the chance to say goodbye.

By voting for the British Heart Foundation, we can move towards a future where heart disease is no longer a threat, and every beat is a beat of hope.

Your vote will help the British Heart Foundation fund lifesaving research to bring hope to families just like Scarlett’s, giving them more precious time together.

British Heart Foundation is one of five charities you can vote for along with Rock Trust, Parkinson's UK, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and St Columba’s Hospice Care.
