Performers from across the Commonwealth came together for the 2014 Tattoo, as we celebrated 'Our Home, Friends and Family'.
Against the spectacular backdrop of Scotland’s top tourist attraction over 1,000 performers, 35 Zulu warriors, 40 fiddlers, 45 steel drummers along with one or two surprises delivered the riches of entertainment at this year’s Homecoming-themed 65th Tattoo on the floodlit Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle.
220,000 visitors were thrilled by the multinational extravaganza. The 2014 theme ‘Our Home, Friends and Family’ conveyed the notion of travel, which since the beginning of time has fired the emotions. The lure of faraway places, the adventure into the unknown and the joy of reunion.
Our Home, Friends and Family
From the Northern Lights to the South Pacific, from Nagaland, India’s final frontier, to Australasia, Malta, the West Indies, South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal and beyond, performers returned to the heartland of the mountain and the flood. With the Year of Homecoming Scotland there is no better place to be.
