1 Cockburn Street Conference Centre
Built in 1863 as The Cockburn Hotel, this striking building has been part of Edinburgh’s cityscape for over 140 years, sitting comfortably in the historic Old Town but on the cusp of the impressive New Town.
Acquired by The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2013 to create a modern city centre Headquarters, the building underwent a period of renovation before being reopened in 2016 to provide the iconic Edinburgh event with its first permanent home. It is now also home to 1 Cockburn Street, a conference centre with modern technology steeped in historic charm, with magnificent views over the city centre.
The conference centre consists of two large rooms, both with panoramic views over Edinburgh’s city centre. The smaller of the two, the Board Room seats 30 people while the Conference Room can hold up to 80. Alternatively, both rooms can be booked together should an event grow. 1 Cockburn Street is also equipped with state of the art technology including video conferencing, microphones and SMART boards, Wi-Fi and a fully equipped catering kitchen.
