Assisting with a range of tasks to support the smooth operation of the iconic Edinburgh event and day-to-day running of the Tattoo office building.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a world-class event, rooted in Scottish tradition, offering audiences an experience like no other. Performed to a live audience of 220,000 each year on the iconic esplanade of Edinburgh Castle, the Tattoo showcases creativity through music, precision performances and dance from military and cultural acts from around the globe.

This is a temporary position from April to September 2022. Open for discussions around flexible working arrangements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Receptionist (for all building users)

  • Be a welcoming face to all those who visit our offices, and contribute to positive first impressions of the business
  • Welcome and manage all visitors to main office building, including sign in procedures, health and safety instructions and issuing access cards
  • Maintain appearance of reception and common areas throughout the building
  • Support Property Manager in building repair and maintenance coordination


Office Administration (Tattoo only)

  • Answer incoming telephone calls/queries and forward calls as appropriate
  • Manage Tattoo visitors until handover to their point of contact
  • Assist the coordination of incoming/outgoing post and deliveries
  • Monitor the admin email account
  • Order and manage office stationery and basic office catering supplies as required
  • Coordinate staff tuck shop and delivery of meals during event periods
  • Provide administrative support to the Business Support team including desk research


Event Related Duties (Tattoo only)

  • Handle enquiries and represent the company positively in interaction with performer groups, seasonal staff, event contractors and partner organisations
  • Record and facilitate return of event lost property

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A positive and flexible attitude
  • Ability to work to instruction and deadline
  • Good administrative skills
  • Good computer skills, in particular a working knowledge of MS Office
  • Attentive to detail

Skills - Desirable

  • Good understanding of protocol and precedent

Qualifications/Training – Essential

  • Experience in customer service
  • English at Higher/A level (or equivalent)
