To assist the Hospitality Executive in responding to written, telephone and face-to-face enquiries from members of the public and travel trade from around the world. To process hospitality/ticket/merchandise orders and handle the administrative procedures arising from such sales with a particular focus on hospitality.

About the Tattoo

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a world-class event, rooted in Scottish tradition, offering audiences an experience like no other. Performed to a live audience of 220,000 each year on the iconic esplanade of Edinburgh Castle, the Tattoo showcases creativity through music, precision performances and dance from military and cultural acts from around the globe.

Duration

Temporary position available between 31 May to 27 August 2022 (with the possibility of an extension depending on our business needs and your availability).  The normal working week is 35 hours, however during the Tattoo period (5-27 August) there will be an expectation to work hours in excess of this.  From June to July these hours will be arranged between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Saturday and in August, hours will be arranged between 0900 and 2300 Monday to Sunday, on a rota basis.

Key Duties

  • Support the sales, delivery, evaluation, and development of Tattoo hospitality
  • Prepare and despatch tickets, event itineraries/menus/guest lists
  • Respond to written, telephone and face-to-face enquiries regarding tickets, hospitality and merchandise from the general public and travel trade from around the world including REMT guests
  • Process orders for tickets, merchandise, hospitality packages and Friends’ events using a computerised ticketing system
  • Assist with processing travel trade ticket orders, exchanges, and returns as directed
  • Process payments/refunds for tickets (including resales), merchandise hospitality packages, membership and partner offers
  • Assist with the invitation and associated correspondence, allocation, and despatch of REMT guest tickets
  • Provide best practice customer service

Event Related Duties

  • Prepare guest lists, dietary requirements, table plans, seating plan and vehicle pass requirements and distribute as appropriate
  • Assist with coordination of hospitality stock requirements

Qualifications/Training – Essential

  • Educated to university/college standard or appropriate work experience in a customer facing environment

Qualifications/Training – Desirable

  • Qualification in Corporate Hospitality/Event/Tourism Management (or equivalent)
