A fast-paced sales environment within the event space at Edinburgh Castle. This role requires you to be enthusiastic and engaging, comfortable with money handling and ready to move high volumes of stock. Minimum 29.5 hours, between 6pm-midnight Mon-Sat. Real living wage of £9/hour. Late July to late August.

Duration

This is a temporary position from 1-24 August 2019 with a period of staff training on 22 July. Your normal working week is one of 29.5 hours although you may be required to work hours in excess of this. These hours are arranged between 1900-2330 hours daily Monday to Friday and 1800-0100 hours on Saturday, you will be on duty every performance night.

Key Duties

• Facilitate the hire of cushions/sale of souvenirs ahead of the Tattoo performance each evening
• Handle cash
• Ensure that all cushions are returned/retrieved from the arena after the performance
• Engage and interact with customers to provide exceptional standards of customer service
• Follow daily cash up procedures

Skills – Essential

• A first class ambassador for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
• Reliable, articulate and presentable
• Numerate
• Confident communicating with a variety of people from around the world

Qualification/Experience – Essential

• Previous experience of, and a genuine desire to, work in a fast-paced customer-facing environment
• A flexible approach
• The ability to work under pressure and without supervision
• The ability to raise your voice to be heard above a busy arena and attract customers
