Based at the Tattoo HQ, you will work closely with the core team to support an audience of over 220,000 people arrange their visit to the spectacular event on the Castle Esplanade and other exciting activities while in Edinburgh. Customer service and attention to detail are key. Minimum 35 hours on a rota (likely to include weekends) between 9am-5pm May-July and 9am-11pm during August. Real living wage of £9/hour. May to end of August. Potential for a permanent role.


This is a temporary position from 21 May to 24 August 2019. Your normal working week is one of 35 hours, however during the Tattoo period (1-24 August) you will be expected to work hours in excess of this. In May and June, these hours will be arranged between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Friday. In July and August, these hours will be arranged between 0900 and 2300 Monday to Sunday, on a rota basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide best customer service
• Respond to written, telephone, and face-to-face enquiries from members of the public and travel trade from around the world
• Process orders for tickets, hospitality and merchandise using a computerised ticketing system
• Handle the administrative tasks arising from the sale of tickets and hospitality
• Check and despatch tickets and event schedules
• Process membership sales and renewals
• Process cash and credit card payments
• Maintain customer database records
• Prepare and despatch Disabled Vehicle Passes
• Prepare and despatch Resale Advice Notes

Qualification/Experience – Essential

• Previous experience of, and a genuine desire to, work in a customer-facing environment
• Excellent administrative skills
• Excellent computer skills, in particular a working knowledge or MS Word, Outlook and Excel
• A flexible attitude
• The ability to work under pressure and without supervision
• A knowledge of the city of Edinburgh
