Making a Purchase:

Online:

Making a purchase online via our secure server could not be easier. Just browse our Catalogue and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. Clicking on the shopping cart button at any time will show you the list of items you are about to purchase.

After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order. Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Switch, Maestro or Solo. If you are shopping from outside the United Kingdom, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. Payment will be debited from your account at time of ordering.

By Mail:

Print out the Printable Order Form and, using the Online Shopping Pages as a reference catalogue, write down the items you wish to purchase together with the order reference number. Add up the total amount payable including postage and package charges. Cheques/Postal Orders must be in pounds sterling and should be made payable to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Remittances from overseas should be made in the form of an International Money Order in Pounds Sterling drawn on a UK clearing bank. Alternatively, you may wish to pay using Visa (not Electron), MasterCard, American Express, Switch, Maestro or Solo. Your signature is required together with the Card number, expiry date, valid from date and Issue Number (where applicable). Send your completed order form to The Tattoo Shop, 33-34 Market Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 1QB.

By Fax:

Telephone the Tattoo Shop (Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 4.30pm GMT) on 0131 225 8616 (0044 131 225 8616 if calling from outside the United Kingdom) and give your details to the sales staff.

Payment:

Payment can be made by Visa (not Electron), MasterCard, American Express, Switch, Maestro or Solo. Credit/Debit card details will be used to finance the purchase, any transaction costs and the postage and packing charges.

Cheques/Postal Orders (in Pounds Sterling only) should be made payable to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Postage, Packing and Delivery:

All goods are sent in padded envelopes or specially made packaging. (Please see returns section for loss or damage). UK deliveries are packed and processed as soon as possible and sent Inland 2nd Class packet post. We reserve the right to a full 30-day delivery but in practice this is most unlikely. Outwith our busiest times orders are normally processed within 5-7 days. European orders are sent airmail and can vary in delivery depending on their destination. Normal service to EC is 7-9 days from date of postage. Mail to non EC/Rest of world addresses is sent airmail packet post and in normal circumstances will reach you in 7-14 days. In all cases mail delivery times cannot be guaranteed. You can email us for a more accurate estimate of arrival times for your region/country. Please try to avoid giving PO Box numbers for mail, unless they are frequently serviced. You may email or fax instructions to specify recorded mail or swifter services. These can be arranged for you in most cases. In all circumstances payment is due before mail leaves the Tattoo Office.

Unless individually marked, the standard postage rates are:

  • United Kingdom - £1.95 per item.
  • Europe - £3.50 per item.
  • Rest of World - £4.50 per item.

Loss:

Recent and possible future world events have made world postal services more susceptible to lost mail. In most cases mail finally arrives but much later than was anticipated. In these cases we will supply replacement copies or items ordered. Please allow a suitable time lapse before contacting this office.

Back Order:

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges:

All prices include VAT at the standard rate (where applicable). Currently we do not offer VAT Exemption to overseas customers or specific geographical regions.

Credit Card Security:

When an order is placed online all credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our omputer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

In order to provide you with the best service we can, we collect certain personal information about you. When you purchase merchandise via the site, we need to collect information about you to process the transaction and fulfill your order. This information may include, but is not limited to, details such as your name, your address and your credit/debit card details.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo uses your personal information to keep you informed about events, news and offers, which we think will be of interest to you. If you have chosen to receive them, we will also use your information to provide you e-mail bulletins and other email alerts letting you stay up-to-date about relevant events and offers. We may also use the information to process any transactions you undertake with us and for internal administration and analysis. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Returns Policy:

In the event of goods being faulty we will replace or refund the items. In the event of goods being damaged we will replace items. Goods must be returned within 30 days. You must notify the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in writing (ie letter, fax or email) of all damage or faults to goods no later than 5 days after their arrival.

Cooling Off Period (UK and EU Customers Only)

You are entitled to a cooling off period of seven working days. This period is to allow you the opportunity you would have had in a conventional shop to examine the goods. Your cooling off period ends seven working days after the day of receipt of the goods. If you wish to return the goods to us within this period, please return with all original packaging and pay all postage costs.
