Tattoo Performers Set For Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens Ross Theatre

This week, the magnificent green valley of West Princes' Street Gardens is to provide the setting as 50 musicians from The Guard of His Majesty The King of Norway and the West Indian Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra take centre stage at the Ross to present a sparkling display of music, melody and rhythm.

In conjunction with The Royal Bank of Scotland, Oslo's HM Kongens Garde will give a free one-hour concert from 12.30pm on Wednesday 10th August while the Caribbean's premier Steel Band are scheduled to make their appearance at the Ross the following day, Thursday, August 11th at 12.30pm.

That day, the Steel Band will be joined by Pipers from Scotland's Regiment for a unique pipes/steel pan rendition of Amazing Grace.

These two free mini-shows will feature some of the finest musicians in the Norwegian and Trinidad & Tobagan Military with a repertoire which includes music of European and African origin.

Both bands are participating at this month's record-breaking Edinburgh Tattoo (5-27 August 2005).

Said Tattoo Chief Executive & Producer, Brigadier Mel Jameson: "With the 56th Edinburgh Tattoo long 'sold-out' we are delighted that The Royal Bank of Scotland are making it possible for us to take the Tattoo to the people by providing a platform to offer both visitors and locals an opportunity to sample a flavour of this year's popular event."

You are invited to send a reporter/photographer/camera crew to record these events.
