Scotland's Matchless Entertainment Spectacle
From attention-grabbing visual scenes to action-packed themes, the 4-minute recording of the impressive 59th Edinburgh Tattoo (until 23 August 2008) provides a distinctive flavour of this year's Castle Esplanade spectacular.
A feature of this news release is the rich variety on show at this month's annual Military showpiece and an interview with the man responsible for the colossal yearly undertaking; Chief Executive and Producer, Major General Euan Loudon, helming his second Tattoo.
Attractions such as The Indian Army Chief's Military Band (including an interview with their New Delhi-based Band Director Lt Col Vikram Singh), and His Majesty The King's Guards Band and Drill Team of Norway - both adding a distinctly international air to this summer's Tattoo - feature amongst one of the largest multinational casts ever assembled for the event.
Other highlights include New Zealand's Lochiel Champion Drill Team, the Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, and the Royal Regiment of Scotland together with the stirring sounds of the Massed Pipes and Drums.
Plus, this year's centenary of the Territorial Army along with that of Queen Victoria School sees the event present a selection of vignettes using state-of-the-art projection technology, to help mark these key anniversaries.
Featured too, and on their second visit to the Scottish Capital, is a 100-strong Singapore Police Force ensemble, who add an impressive exhibition of the country's culture and music, as the Island's rich heritage resonates through its repertoire each evening.
